A Very MOVING Love Story (Get it?)

A TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Valentine's Day story

Since it’s Valentine’s Week, we wanted to share a love story from our TWO MEN AND A TRUCK family! Our Quality Control Manager, Keith, and his wife recently celebrated their big 5th wedding anniversary, and we just love the story about how they met and started dating.  It’s a very MOVING tale…  (Get it?  Because we’re a moving company?)

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Valentine's Day love storyKeith and Nicole met while they were still in school and Keith worked at the local grocery store.  He worked with one of Nicole’s friends, who introduced them to each other one day when she and Nicole were going to hang out after work.  “She gave me one of the Pixie Stix she’d just bought, and I put it in my pocket because I was still working.  Well, I forgot about it until I sat down in my car to go home, and it busted open in my pocket,” Keith remembers.  Unfortunately, the sugary dust exploded in the pocket where he kept his cell phone, so it became lodged in all the phone’s crevices and broke it.

The next time Keith saw Nicole, he told her about the Pixie Stix disaster.  They laughed about the incident, and kept talking to each other for hours.  “Then we started dating…but on our first date, she wrecked her car by accidentally driving through a ditch,” Keith says.

Fortunately, the rest of their dates went much more smoothly.  A few years later, Keith and Nicole started talking about marriage.  Keith explains, “She told me I would never marry her, and I told her that wasn’t true.  I brought her straight to the jewelry store and had her pick out a ring.  Later I went back and bought the one she chose.”

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Valentine's Day love storyThe spontaneous couple even picked their wedding date on a whim!  “We just woke up one morning and were like, ‘Let’s do it!'” Keith says.  They went to the courthouse and called a friend to meet them there to be the witness.  Now he makes fun of his outfit that day: “I was wearing an American Eagle button-down with those jeans that were popular and kind of ripped up, and I had a studded belt that was so cool.”

They’ve been together for years, and Keith still talks about how great his wife is while he’s at the office.  Happy Valentine’s Day to Keith and Nicole!

Sweetheart garland

Valentine's Day sweetheart garland by TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Nashville
Spruce up your home by creating a classic conversation heart garland to hang in your home. I’m in love with how this turned out!

1 small TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® box
Acrylic craft paint
Sponge paint brushes
Red stickers or a red marker
Box cutter
Hole punch
Heart stencils

Step 1: To make this simple, we decided to do a quick online search and print heart stencils. Trace as many hearts as you’d like to have on your garland and use your box cutter to carefully cut them out.

Step 2: Now that your cardboard hearts are cut out, it’s time to paint. We stuck to the classic candy heart colors but your options are endless! Also, I would recommend doing two coats of paint for the best results.

Step 3: After the paint is fully dry, use your hole punch on each side of the heart. String your ribbon through the holes and behind each heart to put your garland together. At the back of the first and last heart, tie a knot in the ribbon to keep them from slipping off.

Step 4: Use your creativity and think of fun sayings to put on each heart! We used red stickers for accuracy and to save time but a red permanent market can work just as well.

Valentine’s Day door wreath

Greet your guests with love by creating a paper heart door wreath!

Supplies:Valentine's Day door wreath supplies

1 small box
Craft paper
Sticker letters
Hot glue gun
Box cutter

Step 1: Trace a large circle onto your box with a second circle inside it. Use your box cutter to cut out the inside circle as well as the large circle, leaving you with a base for your wreath. Keep in mind this does not have to be perfectly shaped and it is okay to have jagged edges as you will be covering it up.

Step 2: Cut out various sized hearts from your craft paper and begin gluing them down to your cut out circle. Continue doing this until you are satisfied with your wreath.

Step 3: We added a “LOVE” banner to the top to make it extra festive. After you are happy with the look of your wreath, use your hot glue gun to secure ribbon to the back of your wreath.
