Saturday night was the annual Winterfest Boat Parade, and it is called “The Greatest Show on H2O” for good reason. Each year approximately 100 boats take to the South Florida waterways dressed in their holiday finest. Over 1 million people watch from the grandstands and local parties along the New River and the Intracoastal Waterway with many more watching at home. The live webcast is on Sunny TV and WSVN Channel 7 will have it on air on December 16th, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve with countless replays across the country throughout the year. A complete list of airings can be found at https://winterfestparade.com/watch-us/television-airings
This year will mark TWO MEN AND A TRUCK of Fort Lauderdale’s 13th year participating and it is bigger and better than ever. Mother Nature brought the rain earlier in the day but it was cool and clear by the start of the parade and Truckie was able to be on the bow of the boat showing off his moves and waving to fans.
With a Broadway theme this year, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Fort Lauderdale chose “Rock of Ages”. There has always been a bit of a rock n roll theme to the music utilized in both our boat and street parade floats. Plus the movie version of “Rock of Ages” was filmed right here in South Florida.
Dockside parties and decorating abound in the Winterfest Boat Parade
