At TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, we welcome interns from all over the country! One of our summer interns is Cathryn Armstrong, who is joining us all the way from Seattle, Wash. She’ll begin her junior year at Michigan State University this fall, and has a serious interest in graphic design and social media marketing in businesses! We interviewed Cathryn to talk about her internship and how she plans to use the experience she’s gaining in the future.

What’s your favorite thing about where you’re from?

“I’m from Seattle, Wash., and my favorite things about it are how beautiful it is and what it has to offer. There’s the city, countryside, ocean, and mountains all within a 30-minute drive!”

What are some of the main things you do throughout your internship?

“For my internship, I work closely with the graphic design specialist and video and animation specialist to generate content for the marketing team. I make a lot of social graphics, ranging anywhere from happy holiday designs to promo items for social contests or cause marketing campaigns. I also record, edit, and produce short videos for social media. They are mostly tutorial videos for moving tips, but some are fun, DIY crafting videos!”

Why did you choose TWO MEN AND A TRUC for your internship?

“I chose TWO MEN AND A TRUC because of the great culture, impressive history, and exciting growth within the moving industry.”

What is the greatest thing about your internship?

“The best part about my internship is that I’m getting hands on experience in areas I’m really interested in, such as graphic design and social media marketing.”

If you could have any job here at Home Office for a day, what would you choose?

“If I could have any job here at Home Office, it would most likely be Dawn Kroeger’s job. She is the marketing and communications director and oversees the marketing department, including local franchise marketing, public relations, lead generation, social media, graphic design, and internal communications.”

What would your “perfect” day be?

“My perfect day would be back in Washington where I would go on a long day hike in the North Cascades and end with a cookout and bonfire with my family and friends.”

What’s next for you?

“Next for me is finishing up my junior and senior years at Michigan State University and then hopefully finding a marketing job somewhere on the West Coast!”

We love having a group of interns from various parts of the country to bring a different perspective and add to the welcoming atmosphere at TWO MEN AND A TRUC. We’re so happy to have you, Cathryn!
