We are just over halfway through summer, and the interns at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®’s Home Office in Lansing, Mich., are hard at work. While continuing to learn about the company and gain experience in the professional world, they are also living out one of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®’s core values: be your best and have fun!
Continuing with our intern blog series, meet Jason Bergeron! This fall, Jason will be a junior at Hope College in Holland, Mich., where he is studying business with a minor in communications. A former mover, Jason has joined us this summer for his first internship, working with the operations department and supporting both Home Office and the Lansing, Mich., franchise. Although his official title is “Move Execution Intern”, he likes to refer to his position as “The People’s Intern”.
Tell us a little about yourself.
“I enjoy being outdoors, and I especially like to golf and go fishing. In the summertime, I love going up north with my family, my girlfriend, and my dogs, Walter and Peaches. I have a twin brother, however many people don’t think we look very much alike. I am also an avid collector of Super Trucks® Collector Cards. It’s the little things in life.”
What does a typical day at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® look like for you?
“Aside from checking emails, scanning job sheets, and assisting with morning dispatch, every day is different. A lot of what I do is helping people where it is needed. Some days I will run boxes or supplies out to a customer’s home, jump on a move, help Operations Manager Brycen Sorber move storage crates, or assist General Manager Jordan Smith with putting Value Flex® containers away.”
What is your favorite thing about working for TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®?
“The movers and drivers. I really enjoy working with the guys and getting to know them. I have made a lot of new friends this summer through this internship.”
When you were a little kid, did you know what you wanted to be when you grew up?
“I first wanted to be a comedian until I realized I didn’t have enough jokes to be a comedian. I then wanted to be a UPS driver, but I think that job would be too stressful. I’ve never been good at delivering things, especially punch lines.”
“If I had to choose any job right now, I would want to work at the front desk for a day because I love seeing new people and talking to them. When I get older and gain more knowledge, I can entertain some other spots.”
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
“I would want a superpower that allowed me to read any book really fast and memorize it instantly. That way I could speed through an algebra book and just know everything. I’m not sure if that’s really a superpower, but I would like it!”
Jason’s experience as a mover and passion for helping people have been huge assets to both the Lansing franchise and the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Home Office family. Thank you for everything you do, Jason!
